UO DENIM

Berlin, Germany

We are happy to have once again collaborated with Urban Outfitters. The first time was last year when we worked on a production with models both in LA and in Berlin and the second time was last February during Copenhagen Fashion Week. This time we partnered up with them for the UO Denim campaign!

We love Urban Outfitters, so we were very happy to join this campaign and create some new content for them. UO Denim is all about long and short jeans, and also jeans jackets from the BDG collection combined with cool t-shirts and jumpers. For this production we decided to shoot both indoors and outdoors with different looks. For the outdoor look we decided to visit the Botanical Garden in Berlin, a really beautiful location which has hundreds of different plants and cactuses. We actually lived really close to this place when we first moved to Berlin in 2012. If you haven't been there, check it out, it's a great spot to spend a relaxing day and it's very photogenic!

The UO team also send me a little interview right below, which was also featured on the Urban Outfitters USA and Urban Outfitters Europe blogs:

1. Tell us a bit about you and how becoming an influencer started for you?

Hi! I'm Olja and I'm based in Berlin, where I'm currently finishing my BA Photography. Thanks to my studies I started my Instagram account years ago and my first blog a few years later, which allowed me to become a full time blogger and inspire other people into being creative, open for everything and believing in yourself.

2. Where are you from and what are your favourite shopping destinations, hang-out spots and go-to restaurants?

I was born in Russia, grew up in Crimea and then later in Germany. Now I live in Berlin. I think this is really the place to be now due to the fashion and art-photography scenes. Berlin is also great because of its really charming cafes. Here are some of my favorites: Daluma, Superfoods and The Visit Coffee Roastery. For shopping destinations I would definitely go for Seoul. I lived in South Korea for almost six months and fell in love their culture and fashion. If you go there, be sure to take one more suitcase just for shopping.

3. Can you tell us a bit about your personal style?

For me it’s really important to feel comfortable, which is why I almost never wear high heels. I really love denim! Recently, I have somehow ended up adding jeans jackets of all sizes to my collection with different colours and designs. It seems to me that nothing else is needed throughout this summer!

4. What do you love about denim or what are your key styling tips for wearing denim?

Denim reminds me of my childhood and the 90's and it goes really well with any kind of outfit: dresses, summer shorts or trousers. I remember how I added patches and letters to my jeans as a kid. You can customize your denim jackets with whatever you like and whatever is trending at the time. You can even paint or draw on them! Anything you do will turn out really cool. To have at least one cool white shirt in your wardrobe is a must, it always goes really well with denim! The total denim look is now in fashion, so you can easily experiment combining it in different color ways.

5. What is your go-to jeans fit and why?

I really like skinny jeans, especially in black, but lately I've become a big fan of high-rise wide leg jeans!

6. Why do you think denim is such a timeless classic?

Denim is always a good idea! You can always play around and go all creative and experiment with it! I mean it's summer time, it's time for something new and refreshing and denim pieces go with everything, which is why it's timeless!

7. What are your favourite styles in our UO BDG Denim range?

I will definitely go for high-rise shorts and from the new BDG collection I really love the high-rise straight leg jeans that features two different denim twills! I love it, it's really cool!

I hope you enjoy the pictures and the interview! Have a great week!

Hugs,

Olja
